a safe foundation for novice students. Also, the Beginner Series is usually the first
pole experience for all of the students in the class – everyone is a rookie! Students
will not feel anxious or rushed as they would in a class with more experienced peers.
Once the Beginner Series is complete, you can choose to continue with our beginner
pole workout or dance classes.
My schedule does not allow me to take the required Beginner Series. What
should I do?
You have two options if you cannot take the Beginner Series at its regularly
scheduled times:
- Schedule private lessons.
- Invite four friends, co-workers, and/or family members who want to start
taking pole fitness classes with you. Contact the studio and we can set up a
time that fits your schedule. Please note, there is a 5 person minimum for
this option.
I’ve taken the Beginner Series, and now I'm not sure which class is best
for me. How will I know?
Before you decide which class you're going to take, consider your personal goals.
What do you want to achieve at Pole Kittens?
- If you want to break up the monotony of your workout routine or need
motivation to get off the couch, Pole Kittens workout classes are for you.
- If you want to learn to dance for an audience or feel incredibly sexy, Pole
Kittens dance classes will be the perfect fit.
All of our classes are great – it just depends on your mood and/or what you want to
achieve. Read each class description to see which one is right for you!
What’s the difference between the Four-Week Series and other classes?
The Four-Week Series [link] meet at the same day/time for four weeks and the
dance routine is continued throughout the series. Other dance classes must be
taken after the Beginner Series [link] and the routines will not flow from week to week.
How long will it take me to advance?
There is no set time period for level progression. Students develop the strength at
different paces according to their individual body types and fitness levels. Generally
speaking, once a student demonstrates that she can capably pick up and support
her own body weight without straining, she is ready for intermediate-level training. A
student's graduation to advanced level classes is at the discretion of the instructors.
How many students are in each Pole Kittens class?
It depends on the class. Some classes are limited to 4 students, and others 8
students. When you schedule a class, you’ll see how many students can attend
each class and how many slots are still available.
How long are classes?
Pole Kittens classes are typically an hour, except for the Beginner Series, which runs
about 90 minutes.
Will I actually get a workout from Pole Kittens classes?
Definitely. Pole dancing and pole fitness aren’t as easy as they look. Our workout
classes were created with fitness as the focal point. The AlphaKitten Method®
ensures toned physiques and upper-body strength. Although classes are fun and
conducted in a relaxed setting, emphasis is put on attaining personal fitness goals
and promoting individual improvement.
What should I wear to my class?
Each class has it's own clothing and footwear requirements. This information will be
listed in your confirmation email. But generally...
- Students should wear a short-sleeved shirt or tank top, and the proper
bottoms and footwear according to the class description.
- Do not wear rings, bracelets, and watches – this ensures student safety and
prevents damage to our poles and your jewelry.
- No lotion or moisturisers. Lotion makes proper execution difficult and makes
the poles slippery and unsafe for use.
